Bloom Energy International to focus on extending Bloom Energy’s presence worldwide
Sunnyvale, CA – May 26, 2011 — Bloom Energy, a Silicon Valley-based provider of breakthrough solid oxide fuel cell technology that produces clean, reliable, affordable onsite power, announced that Mr. Girish Paranjpe will head Bloom Energy International as Managing Director. Mr. Paranjpe will report to KR Sridhar, Principal Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Bloom Energy.
As part of his role, Mr. Paranjpe will be responsible for developing the global market for Bloom Energy’s presence beyond the US. Mr. Paranjpe will also focus on creating new solutions around the Bloom Energy Server, and the flagship Bloom Electrons offering. In an effort to ensure that clean energy reaches millions around the world, Mr. Paranjpe will lead Bloom Energy’s initiative in partnering with energy industry innovators, and leading solution and infrastructure providers.
Announcing his appointment, KR Sridhar said, “We are extremely happy to have Girish on board. Prior to joining Bloom Energy International, Mr. Paranjpe was the Co-Chief Executive Officer of Wipro’s IT Business and was an Executive Director on the Board of Wipro Limited. He jointly carried responsibility for the strategy and operations of Wipro’s IT Business. He represented Wipro and the IT Industry in various public forums including the Prime Minister's Task Force on Information Technology, the NASSCOM, and at leading global business schools. Mr. Paranjpe is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India.
